"Five Hundred Miles"- Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan & Stark Sands
My dear friends. I’m not quite sure how something as beautiful and unexpected as this soundtrack has slipped below my music radar. I never would have guessed that Mr. J.T. himself could throw himself into the bohemian folk era so effortlessly.
This movie, directed by The Coen Brothers (same fellas as O’ Brother, Where Art Thou, Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, True Grit, etc.), is sure to be a win. Dig in deep, brothers and sisters! It’s a good day for discovering some new tunes.
Lost Coastlines | Okkervil River
"We find the maps he sent to us don’t mention lost coastlines, where nothing we’ve actually seen has been mapped or outlined, but we don’t recognize the names upon these signs. And every night finds us rocking and rolling on waves wild and wide."
I Need My Girl | The National
"I’m under the gun again, I know I was 45% of then. I know I was a lot of things, but I am good, I am grounded. Davy says that I look taller, I can’t get my head around it. I keep feeling smaller and smaller, I need my girl."
